El Guincho, known to his peeps as Pablo Díaz-Reixa, is a unique Spanish artist who’s activities include working in Spanish tv and film, consulting with Woody Allen on his film Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and being part of rock band Coconot. He went solo and tried to bring some Caribbean and African influences to his music, and somewhere along the way they became the main sound. His Spanish chants and melodies combined with incredibly impressive and diverse source material means that no one else is really making music like this right now.
I dig. Let’s take our shoes off and dance.
