Been feeling a bit nostalgic for the UK lately and keep listening to the bands that first got me into britrock when I moved to Scotland in 2001. This is one of the first bands I completely fell in love with, and this was the song that made me fall in love with them. Doves, originally from Wilmslow, England, were formed in the late 80s and are still alive and kicking to this day. They have released five successful and critically acclaimed albums, and this is the second single on their first album, Lost Souls, released in 2000.
For all you Vancouverites: Wondering how you know this song so well? It was used a lot by the Olympic Committee during the Winter Olympics advertising campaign and during the intro to every event. Let’s admit it: a lot of things didn’t go very well during the Olympics, but congratulations to whoever was in charge of picking the music. You nailed it.

**Had to post the Jools Holland version because Sony has blocked the recorded vids of this song from being posted on any blog. I don’t get it… why turn down free advertising?
