Cœur de Pirate, meaning “Pirate Heart,” is the stage name for Quebecois singer-songwriter Béatrice Martin. Martin began playing the piano and writing music as a child, playing with various bands in her teens before eventually embarking on a solo venture with the release of her self-titled debut album. Cœur De Pirate was released in 2008 when the artist was just 18 years old. The album received critical acclaim from French audiences across Canada, earning her a nomination for Francophone Album of the Year at the 2009 Juno Awards. Her sweet voice soars in the album versions of her melodic pop tunes but this remix of her hit “Comme Des Enfants” by Le Mato, a dj group from Montreal, is particularly superb.
