Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks

I’m loving this debut track from Iceland’s newest indie/pop export Of Monsters and Men. The group used this fantastic track to help them win Músiktilraunir in 2010, Iceland’s highly respected nation-wide Battle of the Bands competition and while it earned them a lot of local exposure, it is this video recorded by Seattle’s rad alt radiostation KEXP that has thrust them into the international indie/folk scene.

I love the male/female dynamic the two singers have got going on and the percussion and accordion are great. The song is catchy but has distinct highs and lows, displaying their great songwriting abilities. Now all we can do is wait until their first recorded release this summer but until then… ‘Little Talks’ is on repeat.

Thanks Natalie!
