Jessica Lea Mayfield – Our Hearts Are Wrong

Here’s the title track from this southern belle’s fabulous debut album, Our Hearts Are Wrong. This Ohio native grew up playing in her family’s bluegrass band and began writing her own slow folk tracks as an early teen, which has landed her opening gigs for many big name artists including The Black Keys, Cake, The Avett Brothers, and Ray LaMontagne starting from the age of 17. Now, two months ago at the age of 21, she has released her solo album of her signature gloomy, sad folk/rock songs. The simple yet heartfelt lyrics alongside her enchanting voice are simply stunning.

If you like this intro, be to check out “For Today,” an acoustic recording she did for FolkAlley.com, and this stunning duet with Seth Avett. They are spectacular.
