James Vincent McMorrow is a great Dublin-based singer/songwriter who has impressed audiences across the world with his beautifully haunting folk music. McMarrow recorded his debut alone in an Irish beach house with nothing but a single microphone after years spent perfecting his singing voice. Early in the Morning, released in the UK in 2010 and again for North American audiences last January, has blown folk lovers away with its haunting melodies, fabulous storytelling, and traditional American folk music style.
Unbeknownst to me, McMorrow has already dazzled audiences on our fair shores when he played a beautiful, intimate show at the Media Club last month. But sure to listen to the album on the artist’s Myspace and go here if you would like to purchase it. If you are drawn to the musical stylings of Bon Iver or Patrick Watson, you definitely won’t regret checking out McMorrow’s debut… It’s perfect for a cozy, romantic evening at home.

Also, his gorgeous falsetto voice soars in this amazing cover over Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love”, a big fan favorite. Absolutely beautiful.
