The Irrepressibles – In This Shirt (Röyksopp Remix)

The Irrepressibles - In This Shirt (Royksopp Remix)

Every once in a while you find a musical group or artist that takes you on a journey… The Irrepressibles are that kind of group.

This spectacular ten-piece orchestral ensemble is led by musician, composer and frontman Jamie McDermott and have performed at venues such as the London’s British Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Of his brainchild’s music and performances, McDermott says: “I like my spectacles to appeal to all ages including children and importantly the child in all of us that needs to play and needs to cry.”

Here, his 5 min masterpiece has been doubled in length through the amazing work of Norwegian electro duo Röyksopp, who have been making amazing ambient house music since their formation in 2001. Consisting of friends Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland, Röyksopp have done remixes of everything from Coldplay to Lady Gaga and have also produced four major studio albums of original songs. They are even responsible for creating one of my favorite songs of all time.

Press play, relax, and close your eyes. This is truly spectacular.

Find out more about The Irrepressibles on their website and be sure to check out more from Röyksopp right here.

Also, here is a beautiful and creepy video featuring the original song by the Irrepressibles and scenes from the 2008 film The Forgotten Circus.
